Jackson is set to star as a brand-new character in the world of Garfield, Vic, who is Garfield’s father. The legendary actor will join a cast that features Pratt as the iconic comic strip cat. Currently, not too much is known about the upcoming film, as it’s still relatively early on in its development. However, it’s likely to feature several mainstays from the world of Garfield, including his owner, Jon Arbuckle, their fellow pet, the dog Odie, and much more.
Alcon Entertainment (Blade Runner 2049, Prisoners) is behind the movie and David Reynolds (Finding Nemo, A Bug’s Life) is writing the script while Mark Dindal (Chicken Little, The Emperor’s New Groove) is set to direct the feature.

For Jackson, this continues an increasingly busy schedule for the actor. This year, Jackson is set to star in the upcoming Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, another voice acting role for Jackson. Jackson also starred in the recently released Apple TV+ series The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, and will also appear in the highly anticipated Disney+ series Secret Invasion later this year. In 2023, Jackson will return to the big screen with two roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprising his role as Nick Fury in both Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels.
