With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil now officially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor already has an idea of what to expect when it comes to the future of Matt Murdock.

“I know something,” Cox teased during a recent interview with Radio Times, before recalling just how his return to the MCU came about. “I don’t know much, but I know there will be something else. I got a phone call saying, ‘Do you want to come back? Do you want to be in Spider-Man?’ and I was like, ‘Obviously, yeah! That would be amazing. I’m thrilled. I’d love to do that.’ They said ‘Great, we’ll be in touch,’ and then I didn’t hear anything for, like, two months! I did get to the point where I was like, ‘Did I dream this?’ – I definitely got to the point where I was, like, ‘I don’t know what’s gonna happen.’ But then I got a follow-up phone call.”
Cox’s return to the world of Marvel was a welcomed one by fans, with various recordings and clips of crowds cheering when he appeared on screen making their way online. Unfortunately for him, when he snuck into a screening of Spider-Man: No Way Home, his scene was met with quiet.
“It’s funny, I got so many text messages and so many calls about that moment in the cinema,” said Cox. “My nephew sent me a recording of everyone cheering. So I snuck into a movie theater near where I live and literally stood in the corridor… and, sadly, my experience was it was dead f—ing quiet!”

While it may have been quiet for him, fans are certainly excited to have Cox in the MCU, and with Vincent D’Onofrio’s intimidating Kingpin also arriving back into Marvel projects, it’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for this version of Matt Murdock.
