The latest TV spot spotlights the relationship between Leto and Matt Smith, who is set to play Loxias Crown. In the film version, it appears that Crown is suffering from the same medical issues as Leto’s Morbius prior to his transformation.

“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius,” reads the synopsis. “Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
Based on the character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane in 1971, Morbius sees the introduction of Jared Leto as Marvel’s anti-hero Morbius the Living Vampire. Joining him are Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (Good Omens) as Martine Bancroft, Jared Harris (The Crown) as Morbius’ mentor, and Tyrese Gibson (Fast and the Furious) as an FBI agent.
