Penelope Cruz Boards Grimsby Opposite Sacha Baron Cohen

Currently in production in England, Louis Leterrier’s spy comedy Grimsby has added Penelope Cruz to its cast. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Cruz will play the head of a philanthropic organization opposite Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Strong, Annabelle Wallis, David Harewood, Ian McShane, Gabourey Sidibe, Johnny Vegas, Rebel Wilson and Isla Fisher.

Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston wrote the film, which follows a British black ops agent (Strong) who is forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother (Baron Cohen), who is a northern English soccer hooligan. When it was first announced in August of 2012, the comedy pitch was described as a parody of the “James Bond” franchise.

Cruz most recently starred in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor.
