Tom DeLonge Talks Directorial Debut, Potential Blink-182 Reunion on The Late Late Show

Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge is set to make his directorial debut soon with Monsters of California and a Blink-182 reunion could happen sooner than later.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show, DeLonge discussed what fans can expect from the upcoming film that was written by the artist and Ian Miller. DeLonge likens it to an Amblin film and says it draws from his own life.

“It’s a little bit autobiographical,” DeLonge admitted of the film. “It’s about some skateboarders that get really involved with paranormal, some of the government stuff. I think a lot of people have been following what I’ve been doing with some of my government colleagues at my company To The Stars, so I think there are some Easter eggs that people will be stoked on, but I’m really excited about it. It’s kind of an adventure-comedy, kind of Spielberg tone. I think people like it.”

Host James Corden would then ask DeLonge about a potential Blink-182 reunion now that bassist Mark Hoppus has entered complete remission from stage 4 cancer.

“It’s so funny with Blink, it’s like we’re there, we’re gone, then we’re there and then we’re gone. I feel like I’m always talking about some kind of reunion,” said DeLonge of a Blink-182 reunion. “We always talk about playing together again and I think that’s definitely something we’re all interested in. Finding the time to do it where it lines up with everyone’s priorities is really all that’s needed and getting Mark healthy again. Getting him strong again. But I’m down, I think those guys are down, and just finding the time to do it and when is what we need to figure out.”

Angels & Airwaves also played the song “Rebel Girl” off of its latest album Lifeforms, which you can check out below:
