Back in March, director Matt Reeves announced that The Batman wrapped filming. While we still have to wait until next year to see it, The Batman’s Colin Farrell is already shedding some light on the film. Farrell is playing Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin. But according to Farrell, his part in the reboot is very small (via SuperHeroHype).
Via CBR, Farrell shared the details during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
“I’m only in it for five or six scenes [as Penguin], so I can’t wait to see the film ’cause it won’t be ruined by my presence,” said Farrell. “It’s a freebie for me. I’ll get a little uncomfortable for the f—ing nine minutes I have and then the rest I cannot wait to see how [Reeves] brought this world to life.”

Additionally, Farrell reflected on the effect that COVID-19 had on the extended production of the film.
“Obviously, COVID began to grip the world while we were shooting and I left London in March [2020] and we were still down for four or five months,” added Ferrell. “And then we went back and then obviously [Bruce Wayne actor] Robert [Pattinson] got sick and that was like, ‘F—ing Batman has COVID?'”
As noted by Farrell, Robert Pattinson is headlining the film as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Paul Dano also stars as Edward Nashton/Riddler, alongside Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
