Lil Rel Howery is teaming up with the Judas and the Black Messiah filmmakers and producers to develop a film that will reportedly center on an “American political insurrection,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will apparently cross several genres and will be set in modern times. The film will be directed by Judas and the Black Messiah helmer and co-writer Shaka King. King is producing the project along with Ryan Coogler and Charles D. King, who also produced the Oscar-winning biographical drama, with Howery also set to produce.
The script will be co-written by King. The outlet notes the group is looking to build the writing team for the feature.
The announcement for the upcoming project comes six months following the January 6 insurrection when a mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, leaving over 140 people injured and multiple dead in the violent attack.
