Warner Bros. Pictures has made a few updates to their upcoming calendar, including the delay of Ben Affleck’s Live By Night by nearly a year. Originally scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas Day, 2015, the Dennis Lehane adaptation will now see release on October 7, 2016. It is the first film to claim that date.
Jeff Nichol’s (Take Shelter, Mud) sci-fi thriller Midnight Special has been added to the schedule. It will hit theaters on November 25, 2015, the same day as DisneyPixar’s delayed animated feature, The Good Dinosaur.
The studio has, meanwhile, set an untitled New Line comedy for release on November 13, 2015 and set two mysterious Warner Animation Group features for February 10, 2017 and February 9, 2018. Also the first to claim those dates, the projects are no doubt hoping for a similar box office response to the studio’s The LEGO Movie. It opened on February 7 and currently remains the number one domestic release of 2014.
