Judas and the Black Messiah

The critically acclaimed film is now on Blu-ray. Starring Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield, this movie follows FBI informant William O’Neal as he infiltrates the Illinois Black Panther Party to keep an eye on Fred Hampton.

The Little Things

Featuring a star-studded cast of Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto, The Little Things sees Washington playing Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon. Deacon is sent to Los Angeles and finds himself searching for a serial killer. He impresses L.A. Sheriff Jim Baxter (Malik). However, “Baxter is unaware that the investigation is dredging up echoes of Deke’s past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than his case.”

The Virtuoso

Anthony Hopkins is the boss of a professional assassin played by Anson Mount. With a mysterious new mission assigned to him, the assassin sets out to identify his target. Check out an exclusive clip from the film.

Criterion Corner

Trances

Trances is Ahmed El Maanouni’s documentary on Moroccan band Nass El Ghiwane. The film has a 2K digital restoration, an introduction from Martin Scorsese, and an interview program featuring the director.

Book Club

Attack on Titan, Volume 33

The latest in Hajime Isayama’s manga masterpiece that inspired the hit anime. Volume 33’s summary is, “Once hailed as humanity’s greatest hope, Eren has since become unrecognizable. With the Attack Titan now morphed into a grotesque, colossal skeleton of its former self, Eren continues to control the wave of Titans laying waste to the world, extinguishing countless homes, towns, and lives in their wake. In order to salvage what’s left of humanity, Mikasa, Armin, and the Survey Corps decide to confront Eren head-on. But to stop the Rumbling, they’ll have to dedicate much more than their hearts…”

A Chosen Destiny

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre discusses his upbringing in Scotland and headlining WrestleMania in this memoir. After being dubbed the “Chosen One” by Vince McMahon, McIntyre would get released by the company only to reinvent himself and rise to superstardom.

Reissues

Big Fish 4K

Tim Burton’s beautiful film Big Fish comes to 4K UHD. It’s about a young man that learns his dying father is full of tall tales and then decides to find out the truth of his old man’s life. There are also hours of special content plus new audio commentary and archival interviews.

Cool as Ice

This Vanilla Ice-led film was his motion picture debut. Ice plays Johnny, a bad-boy musician that falls for an honor student high schooler named Kathy (Kristin Minter).

Speed 4K

The classic Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock action flick is now in 4K. It features an LAPD SWAT team specialist as he tries to diffuse a bomb that’ll explode if the bus doesn’t keep going over 50 miles per hour.

New On Digital HD

Mainstream

Releasing on May 7 on video on demand services, Mainstream stars Andrew Garfield and Maya Hawke. Hawke’s character believes she has found a path to internet stardom when she starts making YouTube videos with a charismatic stranger (Garfield) “until the dark side of viral celebrity threatens to ruin them both.”

The Paper Tigers

This comedic action flick out on May 7 features three washed-up kung fu practitioners that decide to avenge the death of their former mentor (check out an exclusive clip).

Initiation

Director John Berardo’s Initiation is also out on May 7. The horror mystery film takes place at Whiton University, where a star athlete is murdered and then the school’s hidden secrets are revealed. It stars Froy Gutierrez, Lochlyn Munro, and Yancy Butler. Check out the trailer.

TV on Blu-ray and DVD

Bleach: Set 10

More of the beloved anime Bleach is released. Set 10 features episode 252-279 of the hit show. Special features include an art gallery, plus clean opening and endings.

Sonic Boom: The Complete First Season

Sega’s beloved hedgehog comes to Blu-ray. The latest Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon has been praised for its writing and now the first season is available. This three-disc set runs 600 minutes.
