“I’m going to get on my bicycle and I’m going to ride up to Disney Fox Studios,” said Crowe to Australian radio station Joy 94.9. “Around 9:15, I shall be Zeus! It’s for Thor. It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about and I’m going to enjoy it.”

In the Marvel canon, Zeus is the Olympian God of Thunder and Wisdom. The youngest son of Cronus, who he later killed to take the throne, Zeus has superhuman qualities such as strength and immortality. It’s an interesting addition from Greek mythology as Thor is from Germanic mythology.
Crowe joins an already stacked cast. It was previously reported that Chris Pratt has signed on to join Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder, with Vin Diesel also set to appear. Matt Damon is also in Australia for the film.

The latest entry in the Thor film franchise is being directed by New Zealand’s Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit). The script was written by Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great). Familiar faces are returning with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Oscar-winner Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Christian Bale (American Psycho) will play the main villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to arrive in theaters on May 6, 2022.
