Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation”) is in final negotiations to star in the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy The Nest opposite Tina Fey. In addition to hosting the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards together, the pair co-starred in the 2008 comedy Baby Mama.
Tony nominated director Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) will direct The Nest, based on an original idea by Paula Pell, who wrote the screenplay. The story follows two sisters who spend a final weekend in their childhood home after their parents put the property up for sale.
Fey will produce through her Little Stranger, Inc. banner alongside Jay Roach and his Everyman Pictures. Poehler is also planning to executive produce. Senior vice president of production, Erik Baiers and creative executive Chloe Yellin, will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
