Paramount Pictures is gearing up for production of Monster Trucks. The Hollywood Reporter says that Frank Whaley, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan and Holt McCallany have joined Lucas Till and Jane Levy in the May 29, 2015 release.
To be directed by Chris Wedge (Epic, Ice Age), the film will reportedly be about a young man (Till) who befriends a monster truck and is described as having a Transformers-meets-Gremlins vibe by the trade.
They add that Whaley will play Till’s father, a man who’s been drifting from job to job since leaving his son a decade earlier. Glover is a man who runs a junkyard.
Derek Connolly, who penned the upcoming Jurassic World, wrote the most recent draft of the script for the $125 million production.
