Following the news late last month that David Fincher is targeting Sony Pictures’ untitled Steve Jobs biopic, comes word, via TheWrap, that Christian Bale is being sought to star. Apparently, Fincher’s commitment to the project is wholly dependent on Bale’s potential involvement.
Adapted by The Social Network‘s Aaron Sorkin and to be produced by that film’s Scott Rudin, the biopic is to be based on Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography, which is described as follows:

He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering.
Driven by demons, Jobs could drive those around him to fury and despair. But his personality and products were interrelated, just as Apple’s hardware and software tended to be, as if part of an integrated system. His tale is instructive and cautionary, filled with lessons about innovation, character, leadership, and values.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is participating in the film as a consultant.
Bale is no stranger to biopics, having previously appeared in films like David O. Russell’s The Fighter, Werner Herzog’s Rescue Dawn, Todd Haynes’ I’m Not There and many more.
