New Line Cinema has signed Carla Gugino to play the female lead opposite Dwayne Johnson in director Brad Peyton’s disaster film, San Andreas, reports Variety. Alexandra Daddario previously came on board to play their daughter.
The Conjuring writers Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay for the film, which takes place when “The Big One” hits California and a special ops firefighter and his ex-wife must make the treacherous journey from Los Angeles to San Francisco to rescue his daughter.
Beau Flynn is producing through his FlynnPictureCo. along with Village Roadshow. The action adventure is scheduled for a June 5, 2015 release.
