Not to be confused with another Fantastic project on the way, Deadline is reporting that The Lord of the Rings trilogy star Viggo Mortensen is in talks to play the lead in writer/director Matt Ross’ (28 Hotel Rooms) indie drama Captain Fantastic.
Set to shoot this summer, Captain Fantastic follows a father who, having spent six years in the remote woods of the Pacific Northwest, has to return to society with his six children.
Mortensen can next be seen in writer/director Hossein Amini’s The Two Faces of January opposite Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac.
Captain Fantastic will be produced by Electric City Entertainment’s Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof.
