Previously reported by other outlets a few weeks ago, Marvel Studios has confirmed that they will be setting up shop for their upcoming film Avengers: Age of Ultron in Seoul, South Korea.
“South Korea is the perfect location for a movie of this magnitude because it features cutting-edge technology, beautiful landscapes and spectacular architecture,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. “We would especially like to thank the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) for making it possible for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ to come to Korea.”
“We’re very excited to have the production in Korea, and also expect this to serve as the footstep of many more opportunities yet to come,” minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism of Republic of Korea, Yoo Jinryong added.
Marvel Studios have confirmed the production will also shoot in Aosta Valley, Italy, with additional locations to be announced.
In addition, they’ve confirmed the cast list will once again include Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, along with newcomers Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and James Spader as Ultron.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters May 1, 2015.
