Welcome back, fellow couch potatoes! This week saw a few shakeups in DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group’s Top 20 Streaming Films. Just not at the top where Trolls World Tour continues to hold onto the crown, followed by holdovers The Outpost, Yellowstone, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jumanji: The Next Level, Bad Boys for Life and … woa! Hold the phone! Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits kicked its way to No. 9 to add a little drama — I love that people are watching Bruce Lee right now. The man is a legend. For those unaware, his greatest hits collection from Criteria features 4K restorations of The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon, and Game of Death as well as a 2K digital restoration of Enter the Dragon. Also included in the set are interviews, documentaries, and some promotional material. Good stuff.
Elsewhere, the horror film Relic, which released on July 3, creeped up to No. 11. Harry Potter continues to surge. The Boy Who Lived jumped to No. 13 this weekend, while the Mel Gibson action fest Force of Nature plummeted from No. 9 to No. 16. It really isn’t that bad. It’s not great either, but still an enjoyable bit of VOD entertainment.
The only other newbie on the list is Jungle Beat: The Movie which swung to No. 19.
Since all major releases are on hold, this could be the Top 20 for some time. Stay tuned!
