After two exciting episodes with the directors of the latter half of the Avengers franchise, Russo Bros. Pizza Film School is coming back this week for an exciting new episode focused on Sam Raimi’s 1981 horror classic, The Evil Dead! Check out their Instagram announcement below!

This week’s assignment from the duo is the first installment in Sam Raimi’s iconic The Evil Dead franchise, which can be purchased here!. Released in 1981, the film centers on Ashley “Ash” Williams (Bruce Campbell) as he, his girlfriend and three friends head to a cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway, only to discover a mysterious book known as the Necronomicon that awakens an evil in the woods, forcing them to fight for their souls.
The third episode in this Instagram Live series will see the return of frequent collaborator Christopher Markus (Avengers: Endgame) as a guest alongside Pete Hammond, the current Chief Film Critic and Awards Columnist for Deadline Hollywood. In addition to his writing career, Hammond hosts popular year-round film screening series and is the recipient of five Emmy nominations for his own television writing.
As partners in AGBO, the artist collective founded by the Russos, Markus and McFeely and Co-Presidents of Story, are shepherding a growing list of titles, with screenwriting projects for the studio including an adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s The Electric State, a TV series based on the Brandstetter detective novels by Joseph Hansen and are executive producing City of a Million Soldiers, Mosul by Matthew Michael Carnahan and Exit West by Jessica Goldberg.
