According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures has once again adjusted the release date for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run to August 7, 2020, previously set for July 31. Additionally, Mark Wahlberg’s action film Infinite, initially set for August 7, will now be released on Memorial Day weekend in 2021. The outlet notes that Disney will also be releasing the Bob’s Burgers movie on April 9, 2021.
The SpongeBob Movie will open against 20th Century Studios’ crime thriller The Empty Man, directed and written by David Prior and based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel by Cullen Bunn.

Infinite is an action/thriller, based on the novel The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Maikranz, that tells the story of a group of men and women who are continuously reincarnated century-after-century to battle an evil madman bent on world destruction. The fate of the planet, it turns out, may reside with a schizophrenic man who will have to come to terms with the fact that his dreams are memories from his countless past lives.
The movie stars Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, The Departed), Sophie Cookson (Gypsy, Kingsman: The Secret Service), Dylan O’Brien (Maze Runner trilogy, Deepwater Horizon), Rupert Friend (Homeland), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Alpha), and Kae Alexander (Ready Player One, Deep State).

Based on the Book “The Reincarnationist Papers” by D. Eric Maikranz, Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer 2, The Magnificent Seven, Southpaw) will direct, with Ian Shorr (Splinter) penning the script from a screen story by Todd Stein. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (the Transformers franchise) produced alongside Mark Vahradian and John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions as well as Wahlberg, Mark Huffman and Stephen Levinson. Fuqua and Rafi Crohn serve as executive producers.
