The assassination of John F. Kennedy, which transpired 50 years ago this week in Dallas’ Dealey Plaza, is being given a fictional reexamination as part of the viral marketing for director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. A new site, The Bent Bullet, launched today (via The Nerdist) and it details Magneto’s involvement in the shooting.
“Half a century ago,” the site reads, “Magneto was implicated in the mutant plot to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. The events of that fateful day in November have been a point of contention between humans and the mutants ever since.”
You can check out a video that explains the fictional conspiracy in the player at the bottom of this page.
Hitting theaters on May 23, 2014, the anticipated film stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
