Following an impressive opening of $30.1 million dollars this weekend, Universal Pictures is in talks with Malcolm D. Lee to write, direct and produce a sequel to The Best Man Holiday.
Made for $17 million and starring Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, Monica Calhoun and Melissa De Sousa, The Best Man Holiday is a sequel to Malcolm D. Lee’s 1999 release, The Best Man. In “Holiday,” when the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, they discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.
Sean Daniel is also in talks to come back and produce the third installment.
