Bloody Disgusting has brought word that the long-awaited horror film The Collected, the third in the Collector franchise, is coming together nicely with the addition of Halloween III: Season of the Witch‘s Tom Atkins, who is in talks for a starring role.

The sequel was first announced in May with the reveal that franchise star Josh Stewart would return, debuting a teaser poster for the film. Original writers and director Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will also be returning to pen and helm the project. Emma Fitzpatrick (The Social Network) will be reprising her role from the previous installment, The Collection.
Stewart’s character, Arkin, was the lone survivor of the Collector’s wrath in the first film, a serial killer with a fondness for elaborately lethal traps used to collect his victims. (If this sounds familiar, the film was initially pitched as a Saw prequel). Stewart returned for The Collection, where he went toe-to-toe with the Collector and ultimately defeated him. While The Collection teased a third installment, it is not entirely clear yet where the third film will fit into the story.
