While Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have not officially confirmed the rumor that Elizabeth Olsen will play Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it looks like Samuel L. Jackson has done the job for them.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Jackson said: “I dont think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I dont know what shes doing, if shes on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Kick-Ass 2‘s Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still thought to be playing Scarlet Witch’s brother, Quicksilver. That remains unconfirmed, though Taylor-Johnson has previously spoken at length about the character.
Elizabeth Olsen can be seen next in Spike Lee’s Oldboy this November and then Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla reboot (also starring Taylor-Johnson) in May 2014.
Featuring favorites from the first “Avengers” film and new Marvel characters never before seen on the big screen, Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
