Force of Nature focuses on Gibson’s retired detective who must protect the residents of a building being overrun by criminals in the middle of a hurricane. Zayas’ John the Baptist is part of the crew undertaking the heist and is described by the report as “a ruthless, cold guy who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means sacrificing people on his team.”

Polish is currently directing the film in Puerto Rico. The script was written by Cory Miller. Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce alongside Luillo Ruiz and executive producers Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert. Production is set to commence July 19 in Puerto Rico.

Zayas has appeared in a number of high-profile films including The Expendables, Michael Clayton, 16 Blocks, The Savages and Bringing Out the Dead. He also played Angel Batista on the Emmy-winning Showtime series Dexter, Sal Maroni on Fox’s Gotham and Sheriff Aguiree on Netflix’s Bloodline, among others. Not bad for a guy who started his career as a New York police officer.
