Twentieth Century Fox is gearing up to begin production on their family sequel, Night at the Museum 3. Production Weekly today confirms that production will take place in Vancouver and London beginning February 2014. Shawn Levy will return to the franchise as director with Ben Stiller reprising his role as museum security guard Larry Daley.
The first Night at the Museum was released in 2006 and followed Stiller’s Daley as he discovered that, at night, the exhibits at New York’s Museum of Natural History come to life. The 2009 sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian then brought the action to Washington, DC. There’s no word yet on where the third adventure might be set, but don’t be surprised to see other familiar faces returning beyond Stiller.
Night at the Museum 3 hits theaters on December 25, 2014.
