The film will be a Happy Madison production, naturally, and helmed by Little Nicky director Steve Brill from a screenplay by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. The plot follows a Salem, Massachusetts resident Hubie Dubois, who is devoted to the town’s legendary Halloween celebration. Though he’s mocked by the rest of the town, when something truly scary threatens Halloween, it’s up to Hubie to save the most important day of the year.

Sandler’s last foray into Netlfix, the aptly titled murder mystery, Murder Mystery, set a viewership record on the platform of 30 million views the first weekend, the most ever for an original film. His recent Netflix standup special, 100% Fresh, was also tremendously well-received.
