Chris Pratt is a very busy man these days, flying back and forth between Los Angeles and London to shoot “Parks and Recreation” and Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy, respectively. While on the set of the former, Pratt spoke at length with IGN about the latter, praising the work that has gone into the James Gunn film so far.
“I think were getting good stuff,” he says. “I dont know what to say about it other than it might be — Oh! Its the greatest movie of the 21st century! Thats what Ill say. Itll be the Citizen Kane of movies other than Citizen Kane.”
Pratt goes on to promise that his character, Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, is a bit of ladies man and that, in the film, he sleeps with “a couple” of aliens. He also says that he’s very excited about where the characters could turn up in the future.
“Whats nice is that it is all the same universe,” Pratt responds when asked if the Guardians might pop up in, say, another The Avengers film. “Because it falls under the Marvel umbrella, there is the possibility, just like in the comic books, that these stories could intersect… A lot of its just going to depend on what people think of the movie and if it makes sense for Marvel to keep making more of them. But I sure hope it does because Ive never done anything like it. I hope they make ten of them.”
Guardians of the Galaxy, which also stars Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou,Glenn Close and John C. Reilly, is set for release on August 1, 2014.
