The upcoming third installment of the Kingsman series will be the last one to focus on the student/teacher relationship of Taron Egerton’s Eggsy and Colin Firth’s Harry. Speaking with Digital Spy, director Matthew Vaughn said that the upcoming Kingsman 3 will be the last film to focus on the rapport between these two characters.
“We’ve got to finish off the Eggsy and Harry relationship,” Vaughn explained. “The final chapter of their relationship needs to be told, which we’ve got ready to do, and I’m hoping to shoot that later this year or the beginning of next year.”
At the end of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Eggsy married a Crown Princess of Sweden, Harry was officially back in the fold, and Tequila (Channing Tatum) joined the Kingsman. It’s unclear whether all three will return for the sequel, or if Tequila’s former Statesman partners, Ginger Ale (Halle Berry) and Champ (Jeff Bridges) will come back as well.
Before Kingsman 3 arrives in theaters though the upcoming Kingsman prequel, subtitled “The Great Game,” has a planned release date of February 14, 2020.
