We already knew that Transformers 4 will be filming in China, is casting Chinese actors via a reality show, and will destroy Chinese landmarks (just in the movie, of course), but now Chinese Films reports just how much the film is centered around China.
Marc Ganis, president of production company Jiaflix Enterprises, said, “The film has a great deal to do with China. Effectively, China is a character in it.”
He added: “So much of the movie takes place in China and the character [Li Bingbing] plays is a Chinese national. So it’s a very natural position for her to have.”
Also starring Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles and T.J. Miller, the Michael Bay-directed fourth installment is coming to theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2014.
