Principal photography has begun on Academy Award nominee Michael Manns untitled feature film starring Chris Hemsworth, Academy Award nominee Viola Davis, Tang Wei and Wang Leehom for Legendary Pictures. Written by Morgan Davis Foehl and Michael Mann from a project Mann has been developing with Legendary for over a year, the story will center on cyber-theft and cyber-attacks.
Joining Mann behind the scenes is director of photography, Academy Award nominee Stuart Dryburgh (“Luck,” The Piano); production designer, Academy Award nominee Guy Hendrix Dyas (Inception); costume designer, Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood (Snow White and the Huntsman, Chicago); editor, Joe Walker (Shame) and casting director, Bonnie Timmermann (“Luck”).
Michael Mann recently produced “Witness” and the dramatic series “Luck,” both for HBO. His credits include Public Enemies, The Insider, Heat, Ali, Collateral and Last of the Mohicans.
The film is slated for release in 2014 with Mann, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni producing and Alex Garcia serving as executive producer.
