“We’re thrilled to be working with such an exceptional cast whose character relationships within the film are riveting and impactful,” Meg Longo, Senior Director at Samuel Goldwyn, said in a statement. “Christopher Cantwell crafts an impressively fresh thriller that, like its winter atmosphere, paints humanity in shades of grey.”
Written by Darren Lemke, The Parts You Lose follows the unlikely friendship that unfolds between a young deaf boy, Wesley, and a fugitive criminal who takes refuge in an abandoned barn on the family’s rural North Dakota farm. After forming a deep bond with the man, Wesley must decide where to place his allegiances when the authorities begin to close in on the fugitive. Winstead will play Wesley’s mother Gail.
“We are extremely pleased to begin production on our first film just six months after launching The H Collective,” says CEO Nic Crawley. “Mary Elizabeth is a wonderful addition to the film and we are proud to have assembled such a talented group who will breathe life into this project.”

She is currently filming the upcoming DCEU spin-off Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which is expected to wrap mid-April and hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
Paul, who also produces the film, is most notable for his two-time Emmy-winning performance on the acclaimed AMC drama Breaking Bad and has since starred in films including Hellion, Central Intelligence, Triple 9 as well as the well-received Hulu drama The Path, which ran for three seasons, and the highly-praised Netflix animated dramedy BoJack Horseman, which scored a renewal for a sixth season back in October.
