In a recent interview with Variety, Guardians of the Galaxy star Sean Gunn has confirmed that every member of the film’s cast and crew are still willing to work on the forthcoming Vol. 3 despite the major changes involved in James Gunn’s firing and production being pushed back. Gunn, also known as the brother of former director James Gunn, portrayed the role of Kraglin in the last two films.
“I don’t know exactly how that’s all gonna work,” Gunn said “but I feel like we are going to make the third movie, I’m excited to make it, I think it’s a disservice to the fans if we didn’t make it and I know the people who worked on the ‘Guardians’ movies are really a family, and we’re gonna come together and make the best movie we can regardless of who’s in charge.”

Back in July, Walt Disney Studios dismissed James Gunn from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 due to Gunn’s past controversial tweets. Despite this, the Guardians of the Galaxy‘s main cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn and Dave Bautista, all still supported him and asked for Disney to reinstate Gunn as the film’s director.
The production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been delayed indefinitely following director James Gunn’s dismissal. The film was supposed to be released on May 2020 but was pulled out from its release schedule. However, even though Gunn won’t directing anymore, it was reported that his script will still be used. Further details about the film’s future development are still being kept under wraps.
