Posted inside The Hollywood Reporter’s preview of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival were details about the upcoming Framing John DeLorean biopic starring Alec Baldwin, along with a first-look at the actor as the titular car magnate, which you can see above!
The details are scarce, though the trade notes that Tribeca will debut the film about the rise and fall of the 1980s auto executive.

The film is directed by Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce (The Art of the Steal, Last Days Here, Batman & Bill) and produced by Tamir Ardon, XYZ Films and 9.14 Pictures and backed by Ingenious. Production is currently under way, with the narrative scenes to be shot shortly. Sundance Selects is distributing the film domestically, and the film is scheduled to be released in 2018.
A documentary fused with narrative scenes, this portrait of John Z. DeLorean covers the enigmatic automaker’s rise to stardom and shocking fall from grace. Interviews with colleagues, employees, lawyers, friends and family who knew him best are interspersed with dramatized vignettes, including a performance by Alec Baldwin – as they all endeavor in their own ways to uncover the real DeLorean.

Morena Baccarin is known for her work in the cult TV series Firefly and the follow up film Serenity where she played the role of Inara Serra. She played Adria in the series Stargate SG-1 and the follow-up film Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Anna in the 2009 TV series V. She played the role of Vanessa in Deadpool opposite Ryan Reynolds and she’ll reprise the role in the upcoming sequel Deadpool 2. She played Jessica Brody in the Showtime series Homeland and is currently playing Dr. Leslie Thompkins in the FOX series Gotham.
