Chloe Moretz and Asa Butterfield Join The White Circus

Hugo stars Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz are set to reunite for The White Circus, a fantasy adventure that Screen Daily reports will also star Andrea Riseborough and Christian Friedel.

The film, which marks the feature debut of filmmakers Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski (best known for their short Maurice Sendak adaptation “Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to Life”), is said to be a “dark fairytale” that follows a crashed pilot and his travels across a war-torn land.

Butterfield can next be seen in Gavin Hood’s Ender’s Game while Mortez will be taking on the title role in Kimberly Peirce’s update of Stephen King’s Carrie.

Stefan Arndt, Melissa Malkin, Gregoire Melin, and Andjelika Vlaisavljevic will produce with Terry Gilliam executive producing. Production is slated to begin in February 2014 with shooting to take place in Germany and Serbia.
