Garrett Hedlund is set to lead Violent Talent, a crime drama that will serve as the directorial debut of Matthew Michael Carnahan. Deadline has the story, reporting that Hedlund will be joined by Margot Robbie and Toby Kendall.
The film, which takes place in present day Chicago, follows Hedlund as Eamon, a man who, alongside his friends Angel (Kebbell) and Quan (Ahmed) plans to make a name for himself in the criminal underworld.
Carnahan is best known as a screenwriter and his writing work will soon make it to theaters with World War Z on June 21.
Hedlund, best known for roles in TRON: Legacy and On the Road, will soon play a supporting role in Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llweyn Davis, set for release December 6.
Violent Talent will be produced by Tracy Falco through Defender Entertainment.
