The comedy follows a group of people — Thomas and Gillian, a couple dealing with relationship issues; and Eric and his mother, Wanda, who is now a grieving widow — who journey to a meditation retreat that does not allow its attendees to speak for three days.

“Matt and Todd (who are best friends) have a new best friend in Miramax, a company who is bold and creatively supportive. We’re mostly just thrilled that someone believed in us enough to give us money to make a silent comedy about meditation,” Strauss-Schulson and Fogel said in a joint statement.

Production on the comedy is gearing up for sometime in the next few months.

Strauss-Schulson is coming off the Rebel Wilson comedy Isn’t It Romantic, which opened to mostly good reviews and an overall 66% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. He also directed A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas and the horror comedy Final Girls.
