Warner Bros. Pictures’ Blended, the new romantic comedy that re-teams Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore with their The Wedding Singer director Frank Coraci, is now set for release on May 23, 2014.
Additionally, the studio has shifted the release of Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, Transcendence, slightly. It will now hit the big screen on April 18, 2014, one week earlier than originally planned. It stars Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Morgan Freeman and Cole Hauser and is said to involve a scientist (Depp) whose brain gets uploaded into a supercomputer with the aim of creating the worlds first machine that can think for itself.
Blended‘s date has it going to head-to-head with Matthew Reeves’ franchise sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Transcendence, meanwhile, has only to contend with Disneynature’s latest documentary Bears.
