Jessica Chastain Joins Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak

Following the actress’ Academy Award nomination for her role in Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, Variety reports that Jessica Chastain is now set to join Emma Stone, Charlie Hunnam and Benedict Cumberbatch in Guillermo del Toro’s haunted house thriller Crimson Peak.

The project also reunites Del Toro with Legendary Pictures who financed Pacific Rim, with Universal Pictures waiting in the wings to possibly come on board to finance and distribute. Plans are for filming to begin in February 2014.

Chastain, who recently starred in the Del Toro-produced Mama, will soon star opposite James McAvoy in the two-film project The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby and opposite Colin Farrell in Liv Ullman’s Miss Julie. She has also been named as a likely candidate for the female lead in David Yates’ upcoming Tarzan.
