It was reported last week that Matthew McConaughey had been offered the male lead in Christopher Nolan’s next film, Interstellar. The actor has now confirmed to the Star Tribune (via The Playlist) that he indeed will play the character named Cooper.
When asked about the role, McConaughey simply said: “I’m confirming.”
Directed and written by Nolan, Interstellar is based on a script by Jonathan Nolan. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan of Syncopy Films and Obst of Lynda Obst Productions. Kip Thorne will executive produce.
Interstellar will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding. The movie hits theaters on November 7, 2014.
