Tribeca Film has provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive red band clip from Tony Kaye’s Detachment, a drama starring Adrien Brody as a substitute teacher who comes to a school where the students prove to be a challenge, just as he is dealing with his father’s deteriorating health.
With a star-studded cast that includes Marcia Gay Harden, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, William Petersen, Tim Blake Nelson, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, James Caan and Isiah Whitlock Jr., the film by the director of American History X explores how teachers deal with the grey area that’s their job description.
In this Red Band clip, we get to see James Caan as one of the many teachers at the school who has reached his limit with the behavior of the students and when one student verbally threatens him, he does a bit of riffing on his threat.
Detachment opens in New York on Friday, March 16 and in Los Angeles on the 23rd, but it’s now playing on Video On Demand.
Look for our exclusive interview with the film’s star, Adrien Brody, sometime next week.
