Already an international hit, Walt Disney Pictures brings Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty stateside this Friday with an American voice talent cast that includes Bridgit Mendler, Amy Poehler, Carol Burnett, Will Arnett, David Henrie and Moises Arias.
Based on Mary Norton’s classic tale, “The Borrowers,” the new animated film tells of a family of tiny people that live beneath the floorboards of a summer house. The youngest, Arrietty (Mendler) is just learning the ways of her people when she meets a 12-year-old “human bean,” Shawn (Henrie). Their friendship doesn’t come easy, however, and Arrietty learns that it could ultimately put everyone she loves in danger.
ComingSoon.net say down with Mendler, Poehler (who plays Arrietty’s mother, Homily) and Burnett (who plays a “bean” housekeeper called Hara who will stop at nothing to see the Borrowers captured) to talk about giving an American voice to a Japanese film.
