From Award Winning playwright Yasmina Reza (from her original 2006 work “God of Carnage”) and legendary director Roman Polanski, Carnage represents a true blend of stage and screen, casting Christoph Waltz and Kate Winslet as Alan and Nancy Cowan, a Brooklyn couple who have come to the home of Michael and Penelope Longstreet (John C. Reilly and Jodie Foster) to settle the matter of a schoolyard fight between their children.
Told entirely in real time and in a single location, the film holds a microscope to broader issues of social interaction and human nature, allowing just the four actors to dominate the screen completely through their performances.
ComingSoon.net had the opportunity to speak with both Reilly and Waltz about the intensely dramatic endeavor, building actor relationships for the screen and Polanski’s process of adapting the real-time drama.
Check out the video interviews in the player below and look for Carnage in a limited release beginning this Friday, December 16th.
