In January of 2017, M. Night Shyamalan’s latest film Split debuted in theaters, marking his twelfth feature and his 25th year of making films. No filmmaker has had the kind of roller coaster-like career that Shymalan has had, with the highs sitting very high, the lows going very low, and the transition from one to the next giving the viewer a severe case of whiplash. We’ve seen the man’s full filmography and have a complete ranking of each movie. Dive into them below and sound off with your favorite Shyamalan movies in the comments!
Split stars James McAvoy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Wanted), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Betty Buckley (Oz, The Happening), Jessica Sula (Skins), and Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge of Seventeen). Shyamalan is currently filming his 13th film, a sequel to both Split and Unbreakable titled Glass. Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn and James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb and his multiple identities, Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, and Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. Unbreakable actors Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard will also return, and Sarah Paulson has been cast as well.
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
