Paul Schrader’s tough as nails thriller Dog Eat Dog hits DVD/Blu-ray on December 27th
Tough as nails New York writer and director Paul (Taxi Driver, Cat People, Light Sleeper) Schrader’s bloody and weird return to form Dog Eat Dog has been a festival hit during its run through Toronto to Austin and beyond and now, this crazy, funny and horrifying heist shocker is set to stomp on to home video on December 27th on Blu-ray and DVD from RLJ Entertainment.
The movie stars the great Nicolas Cage as a paroled crook who links with two other thugs (Willem Dafoe and Christopher Matthew Cook and proceeds to engage in all manner of mayhem, none of which turns out particularly well. The three sad sack criminals are hired by an eccentric mob boss (played by Schrader himself in a turn that almost steals the movie!) to kidnap a baby for a large ransom. When the abduction goes awry, the trio find themselves on the run from the mob and the cops. Vowing to stay out of prison at all costs, getting away with the crime is literally a matter of life and death.
