We’ve all been waiting for Dwayne Johnson to kick some ass on the big screen again and it’s finally happening – he’s getting back into action films and we recently visited the set of his latest one, Faster.
In the CBS Films’ release, Driver (Johnson) is out for revenge after his brother has been murdered in a robbery gone bad. He’s an ex-con who is determined to kill the men responsible for his brother’s death, but at the same time, he’s also on the run from Cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and his partner, played by Carla Gugino.
Newcomer Oliver Jackson-Cohen is Killer, who is also hunting Driver, and his girlfriend is played by Maggie Grace.
While we can’t reveal many details from the set yet, we can say we did talk to Johnson and the director George Tillman. The film is being shot at several different locations in Los Angeles including Studio City where we went for our set visit.
The rating for the movie hasn’t quite been decided on at this point in time although it’s been publicly talked about as being an R-rating and ’70s action films like Bullet and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly helped inspire the movie.
Faster is scheduled to hit theaters on November 19.
