Have you had enough of romantic comedies that espouse the most pure and perfect love? Then welcome to Wallace’s world as he asks the question What If when it comes to Chantry, the seemingly perfect woman he meets at a party only to discover she has a long-time live-in boyfriend.
In this relationship comedy from award-winning screenwriter Elan Mastai and director Michael Dowse (“Goon”), Daniel Radcliffe, who spent 10 years as JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and has been a mainstay on Broadway ever since, plays the role of the poor guy who ends up in the “friend zone” with Zoe Kazan’s Chantry, causing all sorts of woes for him as his friend (and her cousin) Allan (Adam Driver from “Girls”) tries to give him advice on winning her over.
Earlier this week, ComingSoon.net sat down with the film’s stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan, to talk about their decision to take on these roles, how their backgrounds are more alike than one might assume from their previous films, and of course, we just had to ask the two of them about working with the inimitable Adam Driver.
What If opens in select cities on Friday, August 8, and then expands further on August 22. Look for our interview with director Michael Dowse very soon.
