ComingSoon.net had the opportunity to speak with Long Weekend writer, director, and star Stephen Basilone about the upcoming romantic comedy, serving as Basilone’s feature directorial debut. Basilone talks about the inspiration behind the project, saying he wanted to capture the experience when two people meet while navigating the difficulties in life. The filmmaker, who also stars as Jeremy in the movie, wanted to tell a story about “hope and optimism” and how, despite the tough stuff, there’s “still room for all the other good stuff.” The movie will debut in theaters on Friday, March 12. Basilone’s previous writing and producing credits include Community, The Goldbergs, and The Michael J. Fox Show. He has also starred in Prozac Nation, Luke and Brie Are on a First Date, and My Long Distance Relationship.
