We’ve gotten a new Madea movie almost every single year since Diary of a Mad Black Woman arrived in 2005 and now the trend continues with Tyler Perrys latest, A Madea Christmas.
This time, the narrative hones in on Eileen (Anna Maria Horsford) and her daughter Lacey (Tika Sumpter). Knowing that her mother won’t approve of her new rural lifestyle, Lacey tries to keep Eileen from coming to visit for the holidays, but when Madea (Perry) agrees to accompany Eileen on the trip, there’s no stopping her. Now not only is Lacey responsible for making sure the town Christmas jubilee is a hit, but she’s also got to make sure she keeps her family intact, too.
With Madea barreling back into theaters on Friday, December 13th, Perry, Sumpter and Larry the Cable Guy, who steps in to couple up with Kathy Najimy, all sat down to discuss what happens when Madea gets into the holiday spirit. Catch Perrys favorite Madea trick, Larry the Cable Guy’s secret to looking young, Sumpter’s thoughts on Madea as a director, a little anime mix-up and more in the video below.
