Although Sam Claflin and Jena Malone are newcomers to the franchise in this week’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, they’re playing some very familiar faces to the fictional world of Panem. Their Finnick Odair and Johanna Mason are past Hunger Games champions that are called into the games once again when the dystopic nation celebrates its Quarter Quell.
In ComingSoon.net’s third set of video interviews from the much-anticipated release (check out Jennifer Larence and Josh Hutcherson here and the rest of the cast here), Claflin and Malone discuss their daunting casting process and the reaction from both fans and author Suzanne Collins.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters tomorrow, November 21.
