Comingsoon.net is taking a look at some of the most memorable deaths in the Terminator franchise. Check out our picks in the galley below!
The Terminator franchise contains some of the best action movies of all time; there have been a lot of great sequences and a lot of memorable deaths. The films typically revolve around some sort of cyborg assassin or Terminator that has been sent back in time to “terminate” someone. In the first film, Sarah Connor was targeted for termination. In the second one, John got all the attention. While the targets for terminator almost always make it out alive (with someone from the future to protect them), other characters are almost always caught in the crossfire.
For some people, the first two films in the franchise were the only ones that mattered. Terminator: Dark Fate’s narrative is choosing to ignore all of the movies beyond Terminator 2: Judgment Day; the newest film will serve as a direct sequel to T2. With that in mind, we thought it’d be appropriate to take a look back at some of the most significant terminations (or death) from The Terminator and T2.
The Terminator Franchise's Best Terminations
-
The Pepsi guy, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
Pepsi must have paid the people behind T2 a lot of money; the soft drink is everywhere in this film. The hallway scene featuring, John, the T-800 and the T-1000 also features a very unlucky employee carrying Pepsi.
-
Sarah's Roommate, The Terminator (1984)
AKA Ginger Ventura. Ginger and her boyfriend had a very unfortunate Friday night—getting a visit from the T-800 itself as it searches for Sarah Connor.
-
Jonh's foster parents, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
After teaming up with the T-800 John calls his foster parents to make sure they are alright. The T-1000 mimics the appearance and voice of his foster mother before killing his foster father (stabbing him right through his milk).
The Terminator: [hangs up the phone] Your foster parents are dead.
-
Bill Paxton and friends (thugs), The Terminator (1984)
When one travels through time, they do so naked. This memorable scene shows two dim-witted thugs talking (and threatening) the T-800 when he tells one of them to give him his clothes.
-
Phonebook Sarahs, The Terminator (1984)
When the T-800 first comes to 1984, the only way to track down the Sarah Connor is to pick off every Sarah Connor in the phone book one by one.
-
Tech Noir patrons, The Terminator (1984)
The T-800 tracks Sarah down to a club she is held up at, the Tech Noir. It thinks it has her right where it wants her until Kyle Reese shows up. As the two exchange fire, many innocent bystanders fall.
-
Miles Dyson, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
Cyberdyne employee Miles Dyson's trigger-holding death makes up for any role he played in the creation of Skynet...
-
Police station slaughter, The Terminator (1984)
After Sarah finally makes it to the police station, the audience is given a moment to relax...until the T-800 shows up and wreaks havoc on the whole place.
-
T-1000, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
T2's upgraded, shape-shifting liquid Terminator has one of the most memorable deaths in the entire franchise; after getting blown and shot to pieces, it falls in a vat of molten liquid—frantically morphing into everyone it has killed as it dies.
-
Kyle Reese (self-termination #1), The Terminator (1984)
Kyle Reese's sacrifice ensures the destruction of the first T-800 and saves his beloved's life.
-
T-800 (self-termination #2), Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
The most emotional and iconic death in the franchise. The machine that learned the value of life self-terminates in order to prevent Judgement Day (allegedly).
